Ginger the cat dials 999, police roll out 'purrfect' pun in response

When they arrived at 64-year-old Howard Moss's house in the early hours and banged on the door, the officers encountered a confused resident who'd been fast asleep in bed.

With Howard at a loss to explain how the 999 call had been traced to his house, attention soon turned to his unhooked phone... and the feline lying fast asleep with one of his paws across it.

'I’ve had him 12 years and he is very, very friendly,' he said of Ginger - one of three cats the retired university lecturer owns.

'He was oblivious to the commotion he’d caused,' Howard added. 'He just jumped down off the table.'

South Wales Police, for their part, took the false alarm in good humour.
Confirming that an emergency call received in the early hours of Tuesday turned out to be the result of a family feline 'laying across the phone', a spokesperson added: 'It was a purrfect ending for everyone.'

Awwww, that is so cute. Silly kitty.

Ahahaha, that reminds me of when my brother was just a toddler and my mom was making dinner and he someone got a hold of the phone and was pressing random numbers. And he somehow called the police. My mom was really surprised when there was a knock on the door and the cops were there. LOL!
