The original lyrics are not always in an accurate french, so it was impossible to translate the song without the translation sounding awkward.

EH? What did you get the info from? From what I know, Imoto san is a game composer who worked with Shikata San for a few times. Imoto san's born in 1976, March 14 (different birthdate from Shikata San).

Well. Let's say it's very likely to be the same person... I'm not 100% sure about it, though, but it's very close. To be honest, there are several hints out there that make me believe it's a pseudonym that Shikata uses:

First of all, it's very difficult to find any information and pictures of Tomoko Imoto.

Secondly, she is often credited for the piano recordings. Yet, Shikata can play the piano, and you got to admit she's pretty good at it (besides the fact she did the arrangements, I'm also certain she plays on Kalliope ~piano concert~, unless Imoto is credited, which wouldn't surprise me... if anyone who actually owns a copy of it or scans can confirm...) So if she can play the piano herself, why would she ask someone else to do it? She always provided everything she was able to do for her studio works: composition, vocals, arrangements, production, various instruments (look at the credits on the album booklets: it's specified that any instrument that is not listed is played by her), lyrics more and more often.

And the most blatant of all to me is related to the Shadow Hearts soundtrack. Her works there are simply credited as Tomoko Imoto! I mean it can't get more obvious. Everyone agrees she did these soundtracks, her bio mentions it, and if you listen close it's really her style (listen to "Tirawa" for instance, and dare tell me it wasn't composed by Akiko!) even if the arrangements are more soundtrack-like and quite different from her album songs.

A lot of artists use pseudonyms, it could be for various reasons. I don't know for sure but maybe she wanted to dissociate her works as a game composer from her solo albums. Who knows?

For the Shadow Hearts Soundtracks, Shikata San is also credited (for the chorus) along with Tomoko san for the songs they've collaborated (e.g. The Earth, The Sea, the Sun etc). It's actually pretty normal for skilled musicians/artists proficient in playing an instrument having others to arrange their songs for them, the reason may vary though. Em~ also both shikata san and Imoto san belongs to different company. As for who Imoto san is, here you go~
